The Bachelor of Music - Music Performance: Vocal Major is a professional degree. Admission to this program is by audition. No minor is required.

I. WMU Essential Studies (37 hours)
II. Major Area of Concentration (52 hours)
Includes Applied Music, Performance Ensembles, Vocal Studies, and World Language Applied Music (24 hours)
A total of 24 credit hours of Applied Music on your primary instrument. The minimum number of total credit hours for each level is designated below. Note: Sections designated for performance majors are three credits each semester. Performance Ensembles (12 hours)
Major Ensemble (4 hours)
Students are required to complete four semesters of a major vocal ensemble (placement by audition): Ensemble electives (6 hours)
Remaining ensemble electives may be selected from the following: World Language Cognate (8 hours)
Vocal Performance majors are required to take 2 semesters of world language study, preferably French, German, and/or Italian. Depending on the language and level, one semester (4 credit hours) could satisfy WMU Essential Studies Level 2: World Language and Culture. III. General Music Studies (31 hours)
Keyboard Fundamentals (4 hours)
Upper-level History/Theory (2 hours)
Selected from the following options: Music Clearance (0 hours)
IV. Free Electives to make a minimum of 122 semester credit hours
